A Week of Masking

October 7, 2019

Written by Melissa Lenberg, collaboration with Lola.

Lola provided the list of masks she planned to use this week and Melissa followed up with the important information and need to know facts about each. See below for why we use these masks throughout the week.

Sunday

Sunday is a great day to reset after Saturday’s errands and family activities over the weekend. It’s a time to recover from a hectic week’s schedule and prep your skin for the new week. Take a little time for yourself with a mask to rejuvenate, heal inflammation, calm irritation, brighten, stimulate collagen, and prevents breakout with the May Lindstrom, Problem Solver. This hero mask is a warming bamboo charcoal treat that brings all of the right kinds of blood flow to your face. It activates your natural immune system to heal your skin and refresh you in all the ways you deserve.

How to Use:

Add 1 tbsp of problem solver with equal parts water until you achieve a mousse-like texture. I like to add water slowly to make sure i get the perfect mix.

With a brush (I have the May Lindstrom brush and bowl) gently apply the mixture to your face and neck. If you have extra, add it anywhere needed on your body (some people do back, etc,) Please note: this mask can get messy!

Mask will warm for about 10 minutes. Leave on for 20-45 min.

Warm a hot towel and apply to your face, allowing the steam to get the dry mask to break apart or hop in the shower for an easier clean.

Monday

On Monday, since we just did the May Lindstrom Problem Solver yesterday, this is a good day to add a little bit more hydration and nutrition into the skin especially since we’ve already boosted the natural immune system and skin activity. The Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Mask is extremely hydrating and contains hyaluronic acid which binds moisture to the skin and plumps. This mask can also be left on overnight as a treatment if you would desire. If you ask me (Melissa), it’s a great way to end a, “case of the Mondays”! No time restriction on this mask.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, we’re going to give the skin a break and complete our regular skin routine.

Hello hump-day, it’s time for a manual exfoliation! This comes in the form of the May Lindstrom Clean Dirt. This is a water-activated manual exfoliation to be used as a treatment cleanser; it is great for anybody who suffers from congestion, dullness, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring and much more. It contains healing salts to help draw impurities out of the skin. These cleansing clays helps all skin types slough off dead skin so that your products penetrate deeper and your makeup will set better. It is especially good to use to clean dirt during any weather/season changes or when you notice the skin being lackluster.

How to use:

Mix 1 tsp with equal parts water until you achieve a mousse-like texture. Let set on skin for 5-10 min before massaging with wet fingertips.

Thursday

On Thursday, we’re going to put that hydration back into the skin with a quick Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Mask treatment again. We are also going to work on the eye area with the Tata Harper Boosted Contouring Eye Balm. This helps to tighten the under eye area, de-puff and help with the appearance of dark circles because mama is feeling tired by the end of the week. This is another treatment that you can rest in overnight but can also be your daily eye cream to you lift and sculpt all day long.

Friday

On Friday night, I am ready for the weekend and I want a smoothing, glowy feel to prepare for the events I have planned on Saturday morning. Depending on what your skin needs, you can grab the May Lindstrom Problem Solver again or depending on your level of sensitivity, you can prepare a layer of the May Lindstrom Clean Dirt on the skin first to follow with a layer of the Problem Solver on top. Leave on for 20-30 min. Use a steam towel to loosen and rinse away. Massage your now-wet skin in circular motions until any areas of dryness or congestion feel smoothed. Now we have the power-duo packing its punch: bring all the blood flow to the surface, slough off dead skin, and also boosting collagen in the process! I feel all primed for my Saturday to-dos and I can complete my ritual by slathering up in the May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon afterwards. Time for bed!

Saturday

Another day to allow your skin to breath and enjoy the busy weekend with family and friends.

I hope this post was helpful to you. Please feel free to contact myself or Melissa if you have any questions. When shopping, use code LOLA for the Tata Harper products to receive 10% off, unfortunately, there is no discount with May Lindstrom.
