14 WEEKS PREGNANT (ROUND 2)

March 7, 2018

Hi friends! With Paris and travels holding me back from posting last weeks update, I decided to just go ahead and start with week 14. So, here we are! 14 weeks today. I am changing things up a bit with my weekly updates, as I don’t find it necessary to include my total weight gain, stretch marks, and any other questions that people may negatively compare themselves to. Instead, I want to answer questions that you have about what I am doing and how I am feeling this week! So continue to keep them coming!

The red tank is back!

Due Date: September 5th

How far along: 14 weeks

Size of baby: 3.4 in & 1.5 oz, the size of a large lemon

How many days to go: 182

Best moment of this week: Coming home to Vivienne. She was already asleep when I got home Monday night, so when I woke up the next morning (and might I add, jet lagged), she was already awake with grandma and getting ready for breakfast. I was across the room and called out, “MINI!” She got up, ran and gave me a hug, and then just stared at me before saying her famous, “MUM” over and over again.

Miss anything: Being able to drink a larger quantity of wine and champagne during a Bachelorette weekend 😉

Movement: Nothing

Food cravings: Carbs

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing.

Have you started to show yet: Yes

Gender: We found out the gender at 10.5 weeks but are since keeping it to ourselves until we decide to reveal. I know that is probably annoying to some, but this is our time to have something for ourselves for a bit. Don’t worry, we won’t wait too long!

Labor signs: None

Happy or moody most of the time: I feel good this week other than the anxiety I felt traveling and the need to get home as soon as possible from our trip to Paris. There a little too long for my liking. Beyond happy to be home with Vivienne again. I am going to be doing a post all about the first trimester, which I am going to have a better answer for you on this question.

Looking forward to: Next week when life settles down a little bit (Just got back from Paris and we have 3 weddings this weekend).

This weeks Q/A:

How is it handling pregnancy symptoms (fatigue, sickness, etc) on top of taking care of V? Give yourself a break! Whether that means not cleaning the playroom when your kid is napping and taking a nap yourself, you’ll be far more happy to get a nap in then spending time cleaning up a playroom that will be messed up again once he/she wakes up.

When do we get to know the sex? No specific date as of right now. I will of course reveal to you guys but taking a little time to keep something to myself for a change 🙂

How did your symptoms differ from this pregnancy to last? I was nauseous for about a week during the first trimester but other than that, I’ve had pretty similar symptoms as my pregnancy with Vivienne. Craving nothing but carbs and dealing with awful skin. I suppose those two go hand in hand though. I’ve maybe been a little more irritable and moody then what I can remember.  Excited for THAT subside during second trimester.

Why do you only want 2 kids? I’ve been receiving this question A LOT and I find it so interesting how people can not fathom why we would want to stop and not have more than 2 kids. As a couple who both grew up with two other siblings, we always said we wanted to have 3 kids. The more we experienced life and now parenthood, we only can see two in our future. Honestly, 3 seems like a zoo (no offense to anyone with a large family)… and we want so many things of our family… to continue traveling, to live financially comfortable, a happy marriage, to still be able to do things we individually love, to invest in college funds and provide great education options for down the road. I just feel two is our limit. So many reasons, but its all true.

Be sure to send over your questions for next week!

xoxo,
Lola
