  1. Word Of Mouth: Best case scenario is to get a recommendation from someone you know, trust and more importantly whose hair you love.
  2. Do Your Research: Find them on Instagram and be looking for colors and cuts that are similar to your hair as well as your hair goals. Be looking for the type of salon they work at. Do they like anything else you are inspired by? A Hair Designers Instagram should be telling you a story of not only what color, cuts, techniques they specialize in. But what their experience is going to be like while sitting in their chair. The follower count DOES not matter.
  3. When Scheduling: What is the experience like? Is it easy? Do they ask questions? Do they recommend sending photos of your hair & your goal hair? Do the give you a price range quote? Make sure you feel prepared in every way. Questions are a sign of confidence in making sure you are a customers they can help and successfully work with. If a consultation is an option take it and ask every question you can in person. If you don’t feel one is needed, make sure you go into your appointment understanding what price you’re about to pay.
  4. Red Flags: Don’t overlook the red flags, everyone’s red flags are different. You know yours and don’t over look them just because they may have a lot of followers or likes.

Don’t forget you should be excited and prepared to listen to the Hair Designer you have chosen to guide you to the best hair your hair should be.
