French Toast

March 16, 2018

I’ve probably made this breakfast a million times since starting to feed Vivienne at 6 months. There are so many ways to play with the recipe or make it even better based off Vivienne’s liking. Not sure if you know this or not but about 5 years ago, I used to only eat ‘clean’. This has made me naturally cook more bland. It’s just how I’ve learned to like it with less ingredients and additives in meals (not a calorie thing btw). Vivienne isn’t a fan of my bland cooking, so I’ve had to spice things up a bit with using more condiments, sauces, and spices to add some flavor. This recipe started with just soaking bread in an egg. This is my most recent recipe that she seems to really like (as do I).

Ingredients

Toast (I use Dave’s Killer Bread)
Cinnamon
Vanilla
1 Egg
Milk

How to

Crack an egg in a bowl and scramble, add a little bit of cinnamon, vanilla, and dash of milk. Stir well and add half to a small plate. Place a piece of toast on top of the mixture and the rest on top to soak. Start a skillet with some butter and add the bread to the pan. Let cook for a minute or so on medium heat and then flip.

You can spread some peanut butter or mashed banana on top with a little bit of syrup if desired. Or of course just add sliced up fruit on top.

Enjoy!
