Introducing Millennial Currency

December 7, 2017

If you’ve been following me for a while now, you know I have a special place for people who own a small business. Whether that means creating the product yourself or promoting the ones you love, it is the people who take the risk to do something they feel passionate about that I often gravitate toward. People like myself. I love watching people grow and flourish and most importantly doing something they truly love.

Therefore, when Molly and Cory Williams approached me to learn more about their company, Millennial Currency, I was all ears. Side note: I do get approached often to work with many different small companies, and I always will read and do my research before making the decision to work with them. Not everyone is a perfect fit and it has to organically work with my brand before I agree.

Millennial Currency was created by two love birds who were the owners of a boutique production company, creating cinematic films for small businesses (weddings, etc.) in Canton, NY.  Canton is a small town in Upstate New York… close to where I grew up. Through the production company, they met and worked with many artisans that later inspired them to open their own online business. The goal of the shop was to promote all handmade goods that were crafted in the United States. A simplified “Etsy” experience, where you “shop local and handmade,” all from the comfort of your own home.

“Business has been the same for many years. We exchange goods and services for money. In my opinion, millennials are changing that. Millennials are less focused on the products, and more focused on the experience associated with them. Millennials want to know where things are coming from, the story behind it, what it’s made out of, and who it’s made by. The name of the shop “Millennial Currency” represents this change. We are creating a shop full of handmade products, and sharing the stories behind them. Through the blog, we are going to talk about the artisans behind each and every product.”- Molly.

When I opened the box, the first thing that came to mind was the BEAUTIFUL packaging! I wish I took a photo to share with you here, but if you caught my Instagram Story, then you know exactly what I am referring to. Molly sent over a couple extra items (see below) that did not disappoint. A leather rope toy that King is obsessed with, oils, lotions, bath bombs… all very attractive and aromatic that have since been added to my guest bathroom.

AYDRY & Co. Bath Soak, Favorite Things Kit, Daughter of the Land Oil

Good Pup Rope Toy

The other two items I received are my personal favorites: the Cozy Baby Catalina Mouse for Vivienne and the Rutherford Leather Purse for this mama! As you can see, the purse is absolutely stunning. The dark leather is the perfect shade of black, with a smooth finish and chic, effortless style.  It has a large interior pocket and a snap closure to keep items concealed. This bag is cut and sewn in San Diego CA by Boutonne.

The Catalina Mouse is SO adorable and soft! It is the perfect friend for newborns, and toddlers. Her fur is made from soft gray organic cotton. Her ears are lined with striped blue cotton shirting. Her face is hand-stitched with cotton embroidery floss, and she is stuffed with natural wool. Her outfit doesn’t have any metal parts, and because she’s bundled up so snugly, it would be hard to pull her clothes off accidentally. Catalina Mouse is handmade by Hazel Village at their Brooklyn, NY workshop.

Be sure to check out the rest of what Molly and Cory have in stock! I know you will love it. Feel free to use code LOLAHOLIDAY for 10% off.
