House Renovation Reveal

June 30, 2016

Hi friends! I know this house reveal has been looong overdue, and I could blame the pregnancy and all the craziness that’s been going on the last couple of months. Truthfully, I haven’t gotten around to searching and uploading the photos to go with this post. Until today.

Below are the before photos of our house:

Talk about a need for some updating!

The areas we planned to work on were: the kitchen, the wall from kitchen to dining room, the fireplace, and our two bathroom vanities and master shower door.

As I mentioned before, nothing ever goes to plan. Yet this time, in our favor. I desperately wanted to update the shower tile and get a new door for our guest bathroom. It just wasn’t in our initial budget at the time. Bathroom vanities and kitchen remodels are $$$ as it is.

We started our demo and decided on a different, less expensive kitchen/bathroom countertop than we were originally quoted.  This gave us some room in the budget for other projects and since they were already knocking down walls… it would be more expensive to have them come back at a later time than to just get it done now. You didn’t have to convince me, I already knew those showers had to go. Happy wife (and husband!)

Bye bye bathroom tile!

Now, the decision making. I’m already the worst decision maker and need at least a couple of opinions before making the right one in my every day life; so to pick out faucets, hardware, lighting all in a week was pure hell for me. I’m pretty sure JJ wanted to walk right out of that house 10 million times that week and I don’t really blame him. I was bat shit crazy. Oh, and around this time… my sister moved in with us, we started filming for Total Bellas, and I was crazy hormonal from being pregnant (yet I didn’t actually know this at the time). So I’d like to personally cut my past crazy self some slack.

Esthetically, we planned for our home to have a more sleek and modern look. White fireplace, white countertops, white cabinets, chrome finish… can you tell I love white? Clean, airy, and bright.

The bathrooms are a little difficult to get a good photo of due to the lights and lack of natural sunlight.

Overall, we are so happy with how this turned out! But what would we have changed if we could do it again? I may have spent a little more time picking out the bathroom lights and mirrors. But those are all easy fixes that can be changed in the future.

What’s next? Some good décor, artwork, closet doors, and window treatments will be our next house projects. Also a kitchen island and bar stools for the countertop. So much to do! It’s never ending over here.

In reality… what’s next is the nursery… Priorities!

I hope you enjoyed a sneak peek at our house renovation. We loved how it turned out and enjoy it more and more every day. Stay tuned for more house updates as we go.

Be Kind,
Lola
