I showed up at AZ Small Dog Rescue on Saturday to pick up a little dog named Casper. As I walked through the door and was greeted by two friendly faces, they immediately stated that Casper had been adopted earlier that day. I was beyond excited to hear the good news. She gave me the option of picking out another one to take with me. I don’t know about you but that is probably one of the hardest decisions for me to make. How do you decide with all those adorable faces starring up at you? You better believe I made her choose for me.
I walked out with Gizmo, who is a 7 month old terrier mix. He was happy and full of energy, still in the puppy stage of life but you can tell thrilled to just be out and about. Gizmo is dog friendly, kid friendly and people friendly. He was surrendered by his owner who thought he was too hyper (note: puppies are typically playful/hyper).Throughout the day, he ran up to anyone and everyone, attempting to get as much love and affection as possible. I really loved his look, the pink skin and his white hair made him appear especially clean. A lot of small white dogs (including Lucy) get those dark goobs around their eyes, but not Gizmo. He is a beautiful little guy who needs a good active home that will keep him busy. He is neutered, up to date on all his shots and has been vet checked.

I’d also like to introduce you to a company called Liberty United, aka the jewelry featured on my wrist in the photos below. This company takes illegal guns and bullets that have been removed from the streets in their partner cities and melts them down to be incorporated into jewelry. Twenty to 25% of proceeds from jewelry sales go back to organizations in each partner city that work to make kids and communities safer. Liberty United works to reduce gun violence, and provide jobs in America. Go to their website to check out their mission statement and jewelry options and help support the cause.
