Fashionably Pink

On Wednesday night, I attended the first event of Phoenix Fashion Week called Fashionably Pink, a Celebrity Fashion Show. Of course I showed up fashionably on time at the TALKING STICK RESORT to hear crickets by the stage, yes…crickets. I assumed the event was being held at the same location as the rest of the events that weekend. But I was wrong, and very wrong. Note to self: read the invitation.

I drove 15 more minutes to finally arrive at Schumacher European Ltd in Scottsdale. As I walked through the doors, I looked around and quickly regretted the fact that I didn’t force JJ to come with me. Everyone had been coupled up with a date or a friend. Awesome. I didn’t take the time to set up specific dates for each night because I felt it would hold me back from meeting others and networking.

The event was to benefit local breast cancer charities throughout Phoenix and the non-profit organization, Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! The models of the show were local celebrities and cancer survivors. It was truly moving to see these brave women walk the runway.

A well done event benefiting a great cause.
