No Sugar Added Granola

June 19, 2013

I apologize for being so MIA lately. I have been preparing for our upcoming move to Arizona as well as still recovering from our trip to St. Bonaventure that was almost 2 weeks ago. This girl can not party or stay up late like she used to. It’s been a rough couple of weeks and I am exhausted!! With a lot of my appliances currently living in boxes, I have not had the opportunity to be as creative as I’d like in the kitchen. A simple recipe called to me last night when I was scrolling through a friends blog. This clean granola came from my instagram friend Amy aka @FantasticallyFit. These are crunchy, naturally sweet and a perfect snack or topper on yogurt.

No Sugar Added Granola
Recipe by: Amy Clevenger, Fit Fun and Fantastic

Ingredients

cinnamon
1/2 cup sliced almonds
chia seeds
dried fruit
apple pie spice (can omit)

2 cups old fashioned oats
Directions
Mix everything together. Make sure the banana is mixed in really well with the nuts and oats. I added a ton of cinnamon and apple pie spice. Add as much as you want to taste. Place the mixture on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Make sure to spread the mixture so that it is all one layer.
Bake at 350F for 30 minutes. Half way through take the cookie sheet out and mix the granola and put it back in the oven for the remaining 15 minutes.
I also added dried cranberries and chia seeds to this mixture.
xo!
