The big 3-0

July 25, 2016

This weekend, I turned 30. The big 3-0.

I once imaged this large milestone would be spent partying and/or traveling to an exotic place. Neither of those things happened and I couldn’t be more happy about it. Being almost 7 months pregnant, partying is out of the question and I have zero desire to be anywhere close to a club anymore … pregnant or not pregnant. We thought about a mini getaway with friends or even just us 4 (as in Lucy and King) renting a cabin up North, but then the thought of taking yet another weekend in the month of July to travel… didn’t sound ideal. So staying home is what we did!

On Saturday morning, JJ surprised me with the most amazing birthday gift, a pair of stunning earrings that I would wear this evening. It’s fine to be a little dressed up for pizza, am I right? A group of friends and I went to Pomo Pizzeria in North Scottsdale as a pre-birthday celebration. If you haven’t been to this restaurant, I would highly recommend it. They are incredibly accommodating to large parties, and not to mention… the top pizza place in Phoenix (my opinion). After dinner, a few of us hung out and  danced a little at Handle Bar J’s.

The next morning was my actual birthday. We went to brunch at St. Francis with family and a couple friends that couldn’t make it to Saturday night’s dinner. I got the skillet pancake, every time. The rest of the day was spent relaxing at the W Scottsdale, at 110 degrees.. what else is there to do but be in a pool?

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with me and took the time out of their day to wish me  a happy birthday. It truly was an amazing day and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s in store for me this year.

xoxo
