Meet Russ: ADOPTED

February 24, 2015

I often get the question, “how do you not take every dog home with you?” To answer this isn’t easy as all of these dogs seriously melt my heart and it becomes especially difficult to bring back a dog that I’ve shared a special bond with. To see first hand how quickly a dog can be unsure and timid and then from a single head scratch jump into your lap for more love is truly extraordinary. Russ is one of those dogs that instantly felt like my own. I went home that night, looked at my two rescues and imagined what it would be like if we included another in our lives. Unfortunately, the situation for us is not that simple. After almost a year, our dear Lucy (our first rescue, 4 years old) has finally started to accept King (second rescue, 1 year old)  in our family. It took some time and expensive training but we finally feel things are moving in a positive direction. Therefore, the decision to keep another is not the easiest for us. But never say never.

I’d love to introduce you to Russ. An adorable 1.5 years old Pom Mix who is so friendly, social and walks with his head held high. I know he will make the perfect family pet as he so quickly warmed up to me and was happier than ever during our 4 hours together. Russ exudes a perfect mix of playfulness and downtime to cuddle. His perfect tan fur is so incredibly soft, and does lightly shed. His adoption fee is $220 which includes microchip. He is neutered, vaccinated, vet checked and can be available today for a meet and greet at AZ Small Dog Rescue.
