Oreo Truffles

My husband’s birthday was this past weekend and I wanted to make something different than making typical cupcakes or cake for his birthday. He, like myself, loves Oreos… and I found this great no bake recipe to make Oreo Truffles, from no where else but Pinterest. Recipe found here!
On top of making these bad boys, I also cooked turkey meatballs and bruschetta for Steven and Ryan, two of JJ’s friends that came into town to celebrate.
I was very pleased how these truffles came out!
Served better cold.
1 package of Oreo Cookies
1 8-ounce package of cream cheese
wax paper
16 ounces of white chocolate
In a blender or food processor, pulse 1 package of Oreo cookies (including cream filling) until they resemble crumbs. Pour the crumbs into a bowl and mix with one 8-ounce package of softened cream cheese until a moist dough forms. Using a spoon with cream cheese can be a little difficult, feel free to get your hands involved in the mixing! Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a wax-paper-lined baking sheet. Place the balls into the freezer for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt 12 ounces of white or semi-sweet chocolate in a bowl. Remove the balls from the freezer, and stick a toothpick into each one. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate to coat, and place on another wax-paper-lined baking sheet. I ended up needing more than the 12 ounces of white chocolate, so 16 ounces may be best. Remove the toothpick (this is what I forgot to do…. but easy enough they came out!!). Once all the balls are coated with chocolate, drizzle a few remaining crumbs of Oreo on top and refrigerate until they are firm. Makes about 3 dozen truffles.
