Wine and Cheese Ladies Night – What Lola Likes

Wine and Cheese Ladies Night

My husband and I have been hosting parties for our friends every so often since we’ve moved to San Francisco. It’s one of the things I love to do most. I typically start planning a month or a couple weeks ahead of time with my many lists of to do’s and what I need to purchase or make. I get inspiration from other blogs that I mix in with my own vision of what I want it to look like. One of the blogs that really stuck out of me when planning my ladies night was Camille Styles. We have very similar taste.
I recently purchased a lace table runner, which I had been searching for on Etsy for a long time. I finally buckled down, measured my table and just purchased one. I love it! Etsy, you never cease to amaze me.
Another item I was able to put to good use was my chalkboard cheese board! I think one of the reasons I really wanted to have this party was so I can bring this bad boy out!
A purchase that was not delivered in time was my lips chalkboard labels to go on the wine glasses.
This was a bummer.
I really loved Camille’s stamped cheese labels displayed on her boards.
So I decided to make my own!
Step 1.
Cut in half an index card or whatever else you’d prefer to use.
Step 2.
I printed “Manchego”  with the font and size I wanted on a regular sheet of paper.
Step 3.
Tape the index card to the piece of paper and put in printer again
Disregard my non-painted finger nail, trust me it bothers me more than you.
Step 4.
Make Tea
Step 5.
Let the tea sit for a little while, then dip the index cards in the tea a number of times to get the distressed look.
Step 6.
Let Dry.
Step 7.
(tip: press them in book to keep flat)
